After living in their home for several years, they were ready to make over both the style and functionality of their kitchen to match this passion. After filling out a questionnaire, owner and lead designer Bill Wrape met with them to go over their needs and expectations. “The whole concept was built around the fact that he loves to cook and she takes care of the cleaning,” Bill says. Namely, the Blasiers wanted to expand the size of their island to create space for seating, eliminate a built-in desk that was rarely used, and update the look of the room. “I always want to fix things in a remodel,” Bill says, adding that cosmetic changes can be a part of that as well.

Cahill Design gives a primary suite a chic upgrade
A love of plants led Marisa Cahill to find her true passion: interior design. “During college, my husband and I would do landscaping jobs to make extra money,” she explains. Wanting to further their business, she taught herself how to do virtual renderings, including exterior home designs. After graduating from Arkansas State University, the Amarillo native caught the eye of Jonesboro designer Kim Biggs, who owns The Vibe Interiors. Under her wing, Marisa learned the ropes of the business before going out on her own in Little Rock, tackling projects of all sizes.

When this couple first set foot in their west Little Rock home some 20 years ago, they were looking for inspiration. “We lived in the neighborhood and were planning to remodel our kitchen when a friend who is a Realtor suggested we look at this house to get a few ideas,” the owner says. As it turns out, the kitchen wasn’t the only part of the house they loved. They purchased it and raised their three children there.
