From socialites to artists, How They Decorated: Inspiration From Great Women of the Twentieth Century, takes you on a tour of the homes of the most noteworthy style icons of the 1900s.
“The book is presented in four sections that describe the aesthetic approaches that the ladies took in decorating their abodes: The Fashionably Chic, The Unconventional Eye, In the Grand Manner, and Legacy Style.”
Throughout the book you will also find gorgeous renderings and illustrations by Cecil Beaton, Jeremiah Goodman, and Jimmie Henslee. These images provide depth and detail in a way that you may not fully see in a regular photograph.
Many recurring trends can be seen throughout this book, with my favorite being the murals. You can achieve this look by hand-painting (SegretoVignettes), wallpaper, or even hand-painted wallpaper.
